One of the things I have discovered in my 5 year relationship with Power Within and Power of Women is the attachment people have with certain celebrities. My favourite, Bill Clinton, comes to mind, as does Sigourney Weaver and local sensations The Canadian Tenors. However, I was caught unprepared by the sheer LOVE that women have for Ellen Degeneres. She is funny, witty, attractive, and married to the gorgeous Portia de Rossi. What’s not to love! In listening to her speak, however, you realize how much she has had to overcome to get where she is. During the photo lines, women wanted to spontaneously hug her at every opportunity. THAT has never happened before, or even ever been allowed. It was only afterwards that I realized the amount of grief I would get from my girlfriends for not scoring them tickets.
